Why waxing regularly works better

Are you a one-off waxer?

Are you’re one of those people who just gets a wax for a special occasion, or forgets to rebook their waxing at the right time? If so, this article is for you!

If your waxing regimen consists of a bikini wax for the beach or a hollywood for your honeymoon you could be getting much more out of your waxing treatments. Finding your last waxing treatment was 6 months ago rather than 6 weeks ago might be an indication that you need to wax more regularly, and here’s why:

Your hair follicles don’t talk to each other. They’re anti-social. Each hair follicle (the small hole the hair grows from) has an independent streak and just likes to do it’s own thing. While some follicles are busy growing new hair (the anagen phase), others are resting (the exogen phase) and a few will be in between, finished growing and working on letting go of the hair (the catagen phase).

The end result? When that wax is peeled off you get mixed results. Those hairs just popping their heads up are too short to be pulled out this time round and there’s a bunch that are growing right now under the surface of your skin that are just about to appear and make you question why you ever bothered getting that wax in the first place! (Ok, we’re exaggerating, even your first wax is going to leave you beautifully smooth, but trust us, it gets even better if you do it regularly).

But don’t worry, all is not lost! There’s a reason why waxing is so popular and that’s because it produces the smoothest results — and here’s the secret! — when you get your waxing done regularly.

Become a regular waxer and reap the rewards!

So you had your first wax and it didn’t last as long as you thought it would after what you heard from your waxing friends. Don’t give up! It might take two or three treatments, but we’ll help you bring order to your rebellious follicles!

Each time you get waxed, more hair is brought into line in the same growth cycle, as the hair is removed, resetting it back to the growth stage. After that second or third regular treatment, when all your follicles are towing the line and pushing hair out at the same time, you’ll find your treatment leaves you smoother than ever before and for longer. This, you gorgeous people, is the big payoff for regular waxing!

What are you waiting for? Book your next wax now and start seeing the benefits of regular waxing. We also think the best way to stay on top of it is to book in for your next wax after each appointment, then you'll get a reminder from us to come in and you won't have to think about it.

For those of you still with us, here’s a few parting thoughts:

  • Less discomfort. You’ll also find that more hairs will have passed the early growth stage where they’re clinging on for dear life, which means they come out more easily and don’t cause as much discomfort.
  • Regular waxing can reduce the length of hair growth over time. Some people find that after regular waxing their hair growth is disrupted, shortening the growth cycle and resulting in shorter or finer hairs. An added bonus if you couldn’t keep up with your waxing!
  • Don’t shave between waxes. Shaving in between waxes means hair at different growth cycles isn’t removed by waxing, undoing all that hard work you put in to get your follicles to fall in line.
